Now why would a book about male chauvinism start with a chapter about women?  Should not the man’s profile always be first?

That thinking shows the ignorance that is holding men down.  Knowing how to be a man simply is not enough to attract the ladies you dream for.  You first have to know how women are before becoming one of the men they dream for.

In important ways, Woman is, indeed, merely Adam’s rib.  It’s not solely a condition that a harsh world has imposed.  It’s not a slave status created by Man and never really was.  It is something about Woman herself, while in a state of nature with Man, that makes her inferior to him.  Time was the happiest women in the world were little more than property belonging to their man.  It remains in the blood.

But times have changed greatly.

 Woman has all but won the endgame with Man through so-called "advanced civilization".  Over a progression lasting tens of thousands of years, Woman has gained effective control of the heart and mind of humanity.

Women were the first beings in life to reduce the violence that had always ruled the world.  Much more so than men, woman practice civil dealings with others and teach kind religion.  Because these maternal qualities were woven into human society, the moral achievements of mankind, in an ultimate way, are actually those of womankind.  Looking over the long expanse of history, it is fair to say that women have been the greater force behind most of what is thought to be moral and right.

More thoughtful of others, more able to collaborate in many ways, some believe more intelligent, it’s no wonder the standing of women has soared.

The modern woman can also be a threatening figure to men.  Liberated by the birth control pill and a technology economy, women are no longer pushed into a lifetime of servicing husband and children.  Many women make a lot more money than their men do.  Suddenly, women are mayors, top executives, even the Commander-in-Chief.  The really gorgeous ladies can drive millions of guys wild with just a couple of photographs in a magazine.   The grip men held over women through the eons has dissolved.  With civilization no longer needing men for anything real important, maybe the Amazon Empire is not far off.

But men, before losing heart, remember that the imprint of all those generations together will never leave either gender.  In the end, women need men also. Indeed, in a way, most women want to be ruled by the right man.  Man has always, and will always, be able to stir female passion.  Is that not what men are mostly interested in anyway? 

So, one asks, what actually are the basic differences between men and women?  One big difference is how the two are connected to others.  The other is their respective calculation for a successful reproductive life. 

 Although Man and Woman share the same physical characteristics between their ears, how information is organized and how events are interpreted in the brain are quite different.  Women tend to have a belief pattern emphasizing the collective welfare of the family and of the wider community.  Their attachments are more emotional than businesslike, but, still somehow, mothers seem to be in charge of the future.  Women are connected to the universe. 

Locked by their circumstances into an eternal struggle with men over sex and money, most modern women are able to maintain the psychological upper hand in their personal dealings with men.  One reason is that women tend to talk a lot more than men do.  They usually get the last word.  Also, children tend to be influenced more by their nurturing mother compared to their wandering, too busy father.  Even boys are taught feminine priorities from birth.  Although the economy appears to be controlled by men, when money is actually spent for consumption it has a decidedly feminine spin.

Maybe the most obvious proof of strategic feminine victory is the way monogamous family life (at least officially) became the social norm nearly everywhere in a diverse ancient world.  Almost all civilized human societies have created a public ceremony for Man and Woman to pledge to each other on a solemn oath a lifetime of fidelity.

But monogamy obviously does not go well with a big part of Man's makeup.  His goals in a state of nature are not the same. This is the heart of a second natural distinction between Man and Woman.  It is a matter of numbers.

Cursed by the ability, in theory, to father hundreds of children, men want to spread their seed widely.  To them, diversity and quantity count a lot.

The coming together of the sexes is just as important to women as it is to men, but all women make a clear distinction between sex and lovemaking.  Many, if not most, can do without the former.  Every woman dreams for the latter. They have good reason to feel that way.

 Unlike men, women can have only a certain number of children.  Quality is most important when dealing in small numbers.  The world can also be a dangerous and demanding place.  Physical safety and a reliable provider become a big part of the romantic equation. 

Consequently, parenting with one capable and loyal and hopefully handsome man is the logical choice for women.  It has become a part of women’s natural makeup.  This feminine view is the main basis for idealizing monogamy as the natural moral state of humankind.

ANCIENT TRANQUILTY

 It is, however, within this idealism that Woman has her natural vulnerability to Man.  That is her unshakable belief in romantic love as being the strongest force in the universe.  It goes like this.

Every person can find somewhere the ideal romantic partner.  Life is just a matter of locating this person and, therefore, finding true happiness.  Every life can become a love story from one day to the next.  Indeed, since Eternity makes this perfect union so special, fate holds success and heroism in the face of great challenges for all those truly in the state of romantic love.  Just ask Hollywood.

And romantic love is not usually a hit and miss affair.  Life would hardly be worth living if it were.  Generally speaking, one is somehow less than a woman if they have not had one marriage, or one boyfriend, at least one affair, that was truly romantic love.  Success in romantic love is the single most important measure of a woman 

So, women have to mold their perception of experiences in the real world to fit this ideal: an incredible delusion given the usual behavior of men.  Working within this female view of the world though is the only way for modern men to truly quench their greatest thirst in life.

There is much more one needs to know about women to become an effective chauvinist.  Some of it is found later in this book.  But everything else that really matters in romantic attraction involves at least one of the central differences between Man and Woman.
